Stormwater Management Fee Request for Reconsideration
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury owns and maintains stormwater infrastructure, including storm sewers, stormwater management ponds, catch basins, and outfalls. These services were previously funded through general property tax revenues.
To support long-term infrastructure needs and meet provincial requirements, the Town has implemented a Stormwater Utility Rate. This dedicated, user-based fee provides a stable funding source for stormwater services and programs.
What is Stormwater?
Stormwater is rainwater and snowmelt that flows over rooftops, driveways, roads, parking lots, and other hard surfaces. As it travels across the landscape, stormwater enters drains, ditches, ponds, streams, and other waterways.
What Does the Stormwater Utility Rate Fund?
Revenue generated through the Stormwater Utility Rate supports the operation, maintenance, renewal, and replacement of the Town’s stormwater infrastructure and services, including:
-
Storm sewers and drainage systems
-
Culverts and roadside ditches
-
Stormwater management ponds
-
Environmental protection and water quality programs
-
Flood mitigation and prevention measures
Rate Reconsideration
Property owners who believe their Stormwater Utility Rate has been incorrectly calculated may submit a request for reconsideration. This process allows the Town to review property-specific information and supporting documentation to ensure the assigned rate is accurate.
How to Apply
To submit a reconsideration request, please complete the online application form and provide supporting documentation, if available, such as:
-
Site plans or surveys
