As a direct result of amendments to the Ontario Building Code along with the implementation of the Clean Water Act 2006 and the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan, a Mandatory Sewage System Maintenance Inspection Program of septic systems is required every five (5) years within areas defined by the lake Simcoe Conservation Authority.
If you have received a letter in the mail you have the two options below to ensure compliance:
Option 1 ($189.97): You may schedule your septic inspection directly with the Town using the link found below, scanning the QR code on the letter, or by calling 905-778-2055 extension 1520. You will receive the inspector’s report following the inspection.
Option 2 (No Fee): You may provide the Building Division with a certificate approved by Municipal Affairs and Housing under the Building Code Act 1992, from a qualified person registered under the Classes of Registration for On-Site Sewage Systems. Using the URL or QR code below, you may access and upload the third-party inspection certificate by selecting “Third-party inspection” as your inspection method. Please ensure that the third-party inspection form is completed, signed by a qualified person, and returned to the Building Division within 21 business days.
If no action is taken within 21 business days of the date on the letter, an inspection will be undertaken by the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Building Division.
