The community is invited to set sail and celebrate 100 years of the Holland Marsh with a one-of-a-kind public flotilla on Sunday, September 28. Marking a century of agricultural excellence, community spirit, and natural beauty, the event promises to be floating with community pride, local history, and scenic celebration.
The Holland Marsh Centennial Flotilla will see dozens of boats take to the water in a coordinated 5km loop paddle launching at the Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford. Participants can join in by boat or cheer from the shoreline; all are welcome.

“The flotilla is more than a parade on water — it’s a tribute to the land, the people, and the legacy that has grown here for 100 years.” - Mayor James Leduc
Whether you are an experienced canoeist/kayaker or a recreational paddler, everyone is welcome to join and enjoy the opportunity to paddle the Holland Marsh. Paddlers are encouraged to decorate their boats to celebrate Bradford West Gwillimbury’s agricultural heritage. Motorized boats are not permitted to participate. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline is Wednesday, September 24.
