Fire Danger Ratings

Moderate Fire Danger Rating  Current Fire Danger Rating is: MODERATE - Updated September 1, 2023

Fire danger ratings are monitored from spring through fall of each year. Always check the fire danger rating before starting a fire. The fire danger rating is determined using the Fire Weather Index (FWI), an internationally used method for ranking the risk of open-air fires. It considers humidity, temperature, recent rain amounts, as well as wind directions and wind speed.

A Town issued burn permit is also required before starting any fire within BWG.
