100th Anniversary of The Holland Marsh

Celebrate 100 Years of the Holland Marsh!

2025 marks a historic milestone as the Town celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Holland Marsh—a century of agricultural excellence, community spirit, and natural beauty.

This year brings exciting events and moments to remember. From historical tours to showcases at community gatherings, festivals and celebrations, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Holland Marsh Centennial Flotilla: A parade on water

The community is invited to set sail and celebrate the 100 years of the Holland Marsh with a one-of-a-kind public flotilla on Sunday, September 28. Marking a century of agricultural excellence, community spirit, and natural beauty, the event promises to be floating with community pride, local history, and scenic celebration. This event is open to canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and outriggers. Participants are required to supply their own boat.

Location: Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford (767 Simcoe Road)

11:30am - Participant Safety Briefing
11:45am - Participants start to enter the water
12:00pm - Photo and Flotilla begins
1:00pm - End & refreshments 

Viewers can watch the Flotilla from the sidewalk on the east side of Marshview Blvd as the boats turn around the island. Parking is available at the Bradford & District Memorial Centre (125 Simcoe Road). 

Registration in advance is required.
Registration is now CLOSED. 
The first 60 registrants will receive a commemorative 100th anniversary t-shirt. 

Paddlers are encouraged to decorate their boats to celebrate Bradford’s agricultural heritage. Motorized boats are not permitted to participate.

Participants must wear a personal flotation device (PFD) and refrain from being under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the event.

Keep an eye out for The 100th Anniversary Information Booth that will be at various Town events throughout the year including Music in the Park and Outdoor Movies The booth will include historical images, information and keepsakes.
