Water & Wastewater & Stormwater Operators Appreciation Day

WHEREAS: Water, Wastewater & Stormwater Operators are essential to long-term, sustainable access to safe and reliable drinking water in our communities; and

WHEREAS: their work is vital to the health and safety of our communities. They are responsible for monitoring the operation of water systems and facilities, conducting routine maintenance, adjusting treatment processes, identifying and addressing equipment issues, ensuring that the water quality meets or exceeds legislative guidelines and ensures distribution of clean, safe and reliable drinking water; and

WHEREAS: Wastewater Operators are essential to communities to provide citizens with the monitoring and treatment of wastewater; and

WHEREAS: their work is vital to ensuring reliable wastewater conveyance and treatment by operating wastewater facilities and equipment to purify and treat waste water and to dispose of sewage by cleaningand maintaining collections systems, facilities, equipment, tanks, filter beds and other work; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim October 23, 2025, as Water & Wastewater & Stormwater Operators Appreciation Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
