The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury and International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793 have ratified new three-year collective agreements.
The agreements provide negotiated enhancements to wages and benefits that support the attraction and retention of the skilled workforce within the Public Works and Facilities/Parks bargaining units.
Wages for Public Works staff will increase 3% in 2025, 2026 and 2027. Facility/Parks Operator wages will increase 3% in 2025, 2026 and 3.25% in 2027. Public Works staff will receive an additional 2% market adjustment for 2025.
“Council appreciates the efforts of all parties in coming to the table to find mutually beneficial solutions, fulfilling our commitment to be an employer of choice while optimizing service delivery for the community” states Mayor James Leduc. “We look forward to the ongoing great work of our employees as they strive to keep our roads, facilities and parks in excellent condition.”
The new collective agreements replace previous contracts that expired this past March and will run through to March 31, 2028. The agreements apply to approximately 42 employees who are represented by IUOE Local 793.
