The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury will begin site preparation later this month as the first step in the development of the new Civic Centre at 125 Simcoe Road.
To accommodate the future building and associated parking, 19 trees will be removed in advance of the return of migratory birds. The Town will more than offset this impact through the replanting of 60 new trees, featuring a mix of native species to support long-term environmental sustainability.
The procurement process for the Civic Centre project is nearing completion, with a contract award anticipated later this spring.
The new Civic Centre will serve as a multi-purpose public facility, designed to meet the evolving needs of the community. Planned features include a transitional performing arts theatre and council chamber, gymnasium, fitness centre, public gathering spaces, and Town administration offices.
“This project represents a significant investment in the future of our community,” said Mayor Leduc. “The new Civic Centre will bring together essential services, recreation, and cultural space under one roof – creating a central hub that reflects the growth and ambition of Bradford West Gwillimbury.”
Further updates will be provided as the project progresses.
