One of Ontario’s most historic paddling events is back! The 46th Annual Marsh Mash will hit the water on Saturday, May 9, welcoming canoeists, kayakers, stand‑up paddleboarders, and outrigger paddlers from across the province. 

The Canal, which surrounds the Holland Marsh provides one of the best canoe racing courses in Ontario. Marsh Mash offers a wide range of recreational and competitive race categories. Distances range from 5 km to 28 km, including adult and child team options and SUP classes. 

Event Details 

Date: Saturday, May 9, 2026

Location: Sovereign Grace Church (1466 5th Sideroad) 

Time: 8:00 am: Check-in 

         9:15 am: Athlete Briefing 

        10:00 am: Race Start 

2026 Registration Fees 

Early Bird Fees (April 1–22, 2026) 

  • Adult Paddlers (18+): $30.00 

  • Junior Paddlers (6–17): $20.00 

  • OMCKRA/Canoe Ontario 1day Membership: $8.00 
    (Not required for current OMCKRA/Canoe Ontario members) 

Regular Fees (April 23–May 6, 2026) 

  • Adult Paddlers (18+): $35.00 

  • Junior Paddlers (6–17): $25.00 

  • OMCKRA/Canoe Ontario 1day Membership: $8.00 
    (Not required for current OMCKRA/Canoe Ontario members) 

All participants must register in advance online. No day of registration will be available. 

Registration is now open at www.marshmash.ca  and will remain available until 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 6. 

The race continues to operate in partnership with Iain Craig and his family, and BWG’s Recreation & Cultural Services Department. The event is sanctioned by the Ontario Marathon Canoe and Kayak Racing Association (OMCKRA) and is a World Team Qualifier for the ICF Canoe Marathon World Championships.
