Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (s. 32)
NOTICE is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury that nomination forms for those persons who propose to be a candidate in the 2026 Municipal Election on October 26, 2026, are available at the Administrative Centre, 100 Dissette Street, Units 7 & 8, Bradford or on the Town’s website at www.townofbwg.com/election. The term of office for elected candidates will be November 15, 2026 to November 14, 2030.
Nomination forms for the following offices may be filed in person or through an agent, with the Clerk (or designate) of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury during the regular business hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. between May 1, 2026, and August 20, 2026; and between
9 a.m. and 2 p.m., on August 21, 2026, Nomination Day.
- 1 MAYOR (Elected at Large)
- 1 DEPUTY MAYOR (Elected at Large)
- 7 COUNCILLORS (1 Elected from Ward)
- 1 TRUSTEE, Simcoe County District School Board, English Public (Elected at Large), Geographic Area: Bradford West Gwillimbury
- 1 TRUSTEE, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, English Separate (Elected at Large), Geographic Area: Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil
Nomination forms for the following French Language School Board Trustee positions must be filed at the City of Barrie, City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Barrie.
1 TRUSTEE, Conseil scolaire Viamonde, French Public (Elected at Large),Geographic Area: Counties of Simcoe, Bruce, Dufferin and Grey
- 1 TRUSTEE, Conseil Scolaire Catholique MonAvenir, French Separate (Elected at Large), Geographic Area: Simcoe-Muskoka
Nomination Procedure:
A person may be nominated for an office by filing Nomination Papers with the Clerk or designate. The nomination shall:
1. be in the prescribed Nomination Form (Form 1),
2. be endorsed by 25 signatures of eligible electors (Form 2)*;
3. be accompanied by a Declaration of Qualification,
4. be accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee ($200.00 for Mayor and $100.00 for all other offices, paid by cash, debit/credit card, certified cheque or money order payable to the Town).
*School Board Trustee candidates do not have to submit endorsement signatures.
No person who proposes to be a candidate, may solicit or accept contributions for the purpose of the election or incur campaign expenses until that person has filed Nomination Papers with the Clerk.
