NOTICE OF STUDY COMMENCEMENT AND PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE 1 Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Water and Wastewater Master Plan Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
The Study
The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) is growing. To enable growth and meet population and employment targets as defined in the Town’s Official Plan, a robust long-term strategy for water and wastewater infrastructure must be established.

The Town is initiating a Water and Wastewater Master Plan to provide a framework for servicing growth and intensification that is transparent, sustainable, reliable, environmentally friendly, cost-effective, flexible and maximizes the use of existing infrastructure. The study will identify current system capacities and future needs and determine the preferred strategy to service growth. Finally, the study will provide capital planning recommendations to form the basis for future development charges. The Study Area encompasses the entire Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury as shown on the map.
The Process
|This Study follows Approach #2 for Master Plan projects as established by the Municipal Engineers’ Association (MEA) Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015, 2023 and 2024). As such, the Master Plan will satisfy Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA process.
Public Information Centre (PIC) 1
As part of the Class EA study, an in-person, open-house style Public Information Centre (PIC) 1 will be held:
Date: Monday, May 26th, 2025
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 PM
Location: Bradford Community Hub, 177 Church St, Bradford
PIC 1 will present the study background and objectives, the Town’s existing water and wastewater infrastructure, the project schedule and the approach to evaluate servicing alternatives. PIC 1 is open to all members of the public. A copy of the presented materials will be made available on the Town’s website following the event. Questions can be submitted in person at the PIC or afterwards to one of the project team members noted below.
