The Town of BWG invites residents to take part in Red Shirt Day on Wednesday, May 28. Held each year during National AccessAbility Week (May 25–31), this day is a meaningful way to show support for people with disabilities and to promote a more accessible and inclusive community for everyone.
The day was initiated by Easter Seals Canada and encourages individuals, schools, organizations, and communities to wear red shirts and make a personal commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Whether it's removing barriers, advocating for equal opportunities, or simply listening and learning, the day is about more than just a colour, it’s about meaningful change.

Red Shirt Day is also an opportunity to educate ourselves and others on how to support people with disabilities. Want to learn how to be a respectful and effective ally?
