Have Loads of Fun at BWG's Touch a Truck Event!

Get ready to climb aboard, explore, and learn about the machines that keep our community moving! In celebration of National Public Works Week, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) invites families to its annual Touch a Truck event, a hands-on experience with emergency vehicles, town trucks, and heavy equipment.

Presented by List with Louise, Touch a Truck takes place Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 4:30 to 7:30 pm at BWG’s Urban Operations Centre (75 Melbourne Drive). This free, family-friendly event gives attendees the chance to explore over 15 town vehicles—including a Zamboni, backhoe, tractors, and more—while taking photos and learning about the important work they do.

“Touch a Truck is a fantastic way for families to see first-hand how our public works and emergency services teams support the community every day,” said Mayor James Leduc. “It’s a fun, interactive way to spark curiosity, meet our staff, and learn about the vehicles and equipment that help keep BWG running smoothly.”

Beyond exploring vehicles, families can enjoy hands-on activities like painting a plow, colouring, and crafts. Don’t forget to stop by the Town booth for giveaways and enjoy a complimentary ice cream cone or slushie from Mister Treats (one per child, while supplies last).

Parking Information: On-site parking at the Urban Operations Centre will not be available. Event parking will be provided at:

Bradford District High School (70 Professor Day Drive) – starting at 5:30 pm

Holy Trinity Catholic High School (100 Melbourne Drive) – starting at 4:00 pm
