The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is excited to announce that applications for the Youth Council Advisory Committee are open now through November 12, at 4pm. BWG is looking for youth aged 12-18 who are eager to share their voice and champion youth initiatives within the community.
This is a unique opportunity for committee members to network, advocate, and collaborate with other youth residents of BWG while gaining invaluable leadership skills.
As a committee member you will:
- Make recommendations to Council regarding issues relevant to young people such as education, recreation, employment and public safety.
- Advise Town staff and elected officials on policies, programs and initiatives that impact youth.
- Organize events, projects and campaigns to address youth-related concerns and promote civic participation among peers.

“The committee has done a remarkable job in its inaugural year, laying a strong foundation for youth engagement and leadership in our community. We are so excited to be able to have the Town give the youth of our community a platform to share their input on matters that impact the youth of BWG, while encouraging leadership growth and building a strong sense of community among young residents. I can’t wait to see what the second year brings as the committee continues to grow and make a meaningful impact.”– Mayor James Leduc
The Town is looking to fill five youth seats to serve on the committee for a one-year term and will remain in office until their predecessor is elected. This is a volunteer position within the Town of BWG and can be used toward the required high school volunteer hours.
If you are passionate about making BWG a better place for youth, then the Youth Council Advisory committee is for you!
