Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) is proud to announce a major step forward in enhancing local accessible transportation services with the launch of fully accessible taxi cabs now available through Bradford/Bond Head Limousine Taxi (BB Taxi) and Town Taxi.
Through the ongoing efforts of BWG’s Accessibility Advisory Committee (AAC) to improve accessible services in the community, Council approved an Accessible Taxicab Grant giving residents with mobility challenges access to safe, reliable, and fully accessible door-to-door transportation, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This important advancement ensures that everyone in our community can move around BWG with ease and independence.
"This is an exciting move forward for inclusivity and accessibility in BWG," said Mayor James Leduc. "We’re committed to making sure all of our residents have access to essential services, work opportunities, social events, and everything in between, and this is another step in the right direction."
The Town has been working closely with BB Taxi and Town Taxi to meet the growing demand for accessible transportation. With the support and dedication of these taxi companies and the AAC, this milestone marks a meaningful improvement in service delivery for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those using mobility aids.
