BWG Spring Cleaning: Join Community Clean-up Week April 20–26

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to refresh our community! The Town of BWG is excited to announce that Community Clean-up Week is back this year. This annual initiative gives residents a chance to roll up their sleeves, help tackle litter, and keep BWG’s parks, trails, and neighbourhoods clean and welcoming.

Community Clean-up Week place from Monday, April 20 to Sunday, April 26, 2026, and coincides with the celebration of Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, making it a great opportunity for residents to take action and show their appreciation for the environment. This event also supports the spirit of the Provincial Day of Action on Litter on May 12, 2026, helping to build awareness and encourage residents to keep Ontario communities clean year-round.

Throughout the week, residents are invited to participate at their convenience by picking up a Clean-up Kit and collecting litter in their neighbourhoods.

Clean-up Kits include garbage bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, instructions, and safety tips. Kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with no registration required. Participants can pick up their kits at the BWG Leisure Centre (471 West Park Ave.) starting Wednesday, April 15, 2026, while supplies last. Kits can be collected during regular facility hours: Monday to Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Clean-up Kits are designed for 1 per household/family. If you are organizing a larger group clean-up, please contact events@townofbwg.com in advance.

Spring is the perfect time to get outside and give back to our community,” said Mayor Leduc. “Community Clean-up Week is a simple way for residents of all ages to help keep our parks, trails and neighbourhoods clean and welcoming. I encourage everyone to take part and show their pride in BWG.”

Residents are encouraged to help clean up public parks, greenspaces, and trails throughout BWG, taking part at any time during the week of April 20–26. Participants are reminded to keep safety top of mind when choosing a day, time, and location, and while collecting waste.
