BWG Proclaims Pakistan Independence Day

Pakistan Independence Day

WHEREAS: The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury proudly recognizes August 14th as Pakistan
Independence Day, commemorating the establishment of Pakistan as an independent nation in 1947; and 

WHEREAS: The Pakistani-Canadian community plays an important role in enriching the cultural and social fabric of our town. Their contributions in business, education, public service, and community development continue to strengthen Bradford as an inclusive and vibrant place to live; and

WHEREAS: To mark this occasion, the Friends Club of Pakistan will host a flag-raising ceremony, celebrating the values of freedom, cultural pride, and unity that are shared by all Canadians; and

WHEREAS: We applaud and commend the dedicated volunteers at Candlelighters Simcoe Parents of Children with Cancer for the work they do for families of children with cancer in our region.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim August 14, 2025, as Pakistan Independence Day in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
