Notice of Open House and Public Meeting Part 1: Intensification First” Official Plan Amendments to Plan for Growth to 2051
Pursuant to Sections 17 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13, as amended
TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury will be holding an Open House and Public Meeting to discuss the proposed Official Plan Amendments (OPAs) under “Part 1 – Intensification First” of the Town’s Growth Management Strategy to plan to 2051:
1.OPEN HOUSE INFORMATION
Date: Monday, August 18, 2025
Time: 3:30-5:00 p.m. or 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Place: Zima Room, Bradford West Gwillimbury Library and Cultural Centre (425 Holland Street West)
Pursuant to section 17(16) of the Planning Act, an Open House will be held to provide an informal opportunity for the public to obtain information, ask questions, and provide feedback to the project team on the proposed amendments for Part 1 of the Growth Management Strategy. Two identical sessions will be held at different times.
2. PUBLIC MEETING INFORMATION
Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2025
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Place: Zima Room, Bradford West Gwillimbury Library and Cultural Centre (425 Holland Street West)
Pursuant to sections 17 and 22 of the Planning Act, a statutory Public Meeting will be held following the Open House to provide a formal opportunity for information and feedback on the proposed amendments for Part 1 of the Growth Management Strategy. An explanation of the purpose and effect of the proposed OPAs is provided below.
THE PURPOSE & EFFECT of the proposed Official Plan Amendments is to update policies related to the Settlement Area Boundary and Employment Lands in the Town’s Official Plan. The proposed amendments will establish, replace, delete or add policies and/or schedules related to the following key areas:
- Establishment of boundaries and policies for the Town’s Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) surrounding the Bradford GO Station and the proposed Strategic Growth Area (SGA) along Holland Street;
- Policies for residential intensification within the Town’s delineated built-up area;
- Revisions to schedules B-1, B-1A & B-2 to reflect updated policies;
- Update to the Town’s Employment area policies including long-term land needs and protection measures;
- Establishment of criteria for employment land conversions; and,
- Update or replacement of policies & references throughout the Official Plan for the purposes of conformity & consistency with Provincial legislation and plans.

THE LANDS SUBJECT to the proposed amendments fall within the Town Settlement Area Boundary (including the Town’s Employment Lands). Please see Key Map below.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting to make an oral submission in relation to the proposed Amendments. Written submissions regarding the proposal can be made to Town’s Office of Community Planning through the means described below.

IF YOU WISH to be notified of the decision of the Council of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury or the County of Simcoe on the proposed Official Plan Amendments, you must make a written request to:

IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury, the County of Simcoe and or the Minister of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury before the proposed Official Plan Amendments are adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury before the proposed Official Plan Amendments are adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
