Notice of Passing of By-Laws No. 2025-116, 2025-117, 2025-118 and 2025-119 for Adoption of Amendments No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 to the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Official Plan

Part 1 of the Growth Management Strategy

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury passed By-laws 2025-116, 2025-117, 2025-118 and 2025-119 for the Adoption of Official Plan Amendments No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 to the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Official Plan, the “Part 1 of the Growth Management Strategy on the 2nd of December, 2025 under sections 17, 21 and 26 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. P.13, as amended, in respect to all lands within the Settlement Area and Employment Land Boundary in the Town’s Official Plan.  A key map showing the location of the lands is attached to this notice.

THE PURPOSE & EFFECT of the proposed Official Plan Amendments is to update policies related to the Settlement Area Boundary and Employment Lands in the Town’s Official Plan. The proposed amendments will establish, replace, delete or add policies and/or schedules related to the following:

  • Establishment of boundaries and policies for the Town’s Major Transit Station Area (MTSA) surrounding the Bradford GO Station, the proposed Strategic Growth Area (SGA) and Mixed-Use Corridor along Holland Street;
  • Policies for residential intensification within the Town’s delineated built-up and settlement area;
  • Replacement of Schedules B-1, B-1A & B-2 and C to reflect updated policies;
  • Development of new Schedule B-1B
  • Update to the Town’s Employment area policies including long-term land needs and protection measures;
  • Establishment of criteria for re-designation of employment lands; and,
  • Update or replacement of policies & references throughout the Official Plan for the purposes of conformity & consistency with Provincial legislation and plans.

PRIOR TO the adoption of Official Plan Amendments No. 5, 6, 7 and 8, a Public Open House was held on August 21st, 2025 and a statutory Public Meeting was held on September 9th, 2025 to receive public input on the proposed Official Plan Amendments in accordance with Sections 17 and 22 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990.

PUBLIC INPUT in the form of oral submissions at the Public Meeting and written submissions in advance of and following the Public Meeting, was received by the Town and given consideration. A  brief explanation of the effect of written submissions that were made to the Council before its decision and or any oral submissions made at the public meeting can be accessed as part of Staff Report PLN-2025-50, which can be accessed at:

TAKE NOTICE that the authority to approve amendments to the Official Plan of the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury under the Planning Act is delegated to the Corporation of the County of Simcoe. Accordingly, Official Plan Amendments No. 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be submitted to the County of Simcoe for approval.  Any person or public body will be entitled to receive notice of the County's decision on the Official Plan Amendments if a written request to be notified (include name and mailing address) of the decision is made to the approval authority at the following address:
