Aquatic Recruitment FAQ

In order to be considered for an Aquatic position, it is highly recommended that you have Aquatic Volunteer experience and you must meet the following criteria:

Volunteer
  • Must be 14 years of age
  • Current Bronze Medallion Certificate
  • Register for Volunteer Program

Pool Attendant

  • Must be 14 years of age
  • Current Standard First Aid certificate
Aquatic Attendant
  • Must be 14 years of age
  • Current pool attendant certificate
  • Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate
 Aquatic Assistant 
  • Must be 14 years of age
  • Current Bronze Cross (or higher) certificate
  • Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate
  • Current Lifesaving Society Assistant Instructor (or higher) certificate
Lifeguard
  • Must be 15 years of age (per R.R.O 1990, Reg 565: Public Pools)
  • Current National Lifeguard Certificate
  • Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate

Aquatic Instructor

  • Must be 15 years of age (per R.R.O 1990, Reg 565: Public Pools)
  • Current National Lifeguard Certificate
  • Current Ministry Approved Standard First Aid (or higher) certificate
  • Current Lifesaving Swim, Lifesaving & Emergency First Aid Instructor certificates
