Water Slide Rules

Please obey all posted safety rules and oral instructions from our ride operators. 

You may not get on the waterslide unless:

  • You know how to get on, use, and get off the ride.
  • You have read, understood, and meet the waterslide safety requirements.
  • You know the limits of your ability and that the ride will not exceed your limits.
  • You are not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • You are authorized by the operator to get on the ride.

All riders must complete the facility swim test in order to ride the water slide. Only green bands will be allowed on the slide. Floatation devices are not permitted on the water slide (PFD's /Lifejackets).

Water Slide Safety Rules:

  1. Maximum weight of rider is 300LBS.
  2. Obey all orders given by the Attendant and Operator.
  3. You must be 48 inches or taller to ride the water slide.
  4. The maximum depth of the water in the discharge splash down area is 42 inches.
  5. Eyeglasses must be securely affixed to riders with head bands.
  6. Only one rider on the waterslide at one time. Single riders only!
  7. No person shall bring glass, bottles or food into the waterslide area.
  8. Never form chains.
  9. Slide must be ridden feet first, lying on your back or in a sitting position (sit up to go slower, lie down to go faster).
  10.  Riders must wait for the attendant's start signal before entering the waterslide.
  11. Keep legs, arms and hands inside the flume at all times.
  12. Do not run, dive, stand, kneel, rotate or stop in the slide channel.
  13. PFDs and goggles/snorkeling face masks are not permitted on the waterslide. 
  14. A maximum of 4 patrons are allowed on the slide stairs at a time. Other participants wishing to use the water slide should form a neat line at the bottom of the stairs. 
  15. At the end of the slide, obey all instructions by the lifeguard and exit quickly.

Warning: For safety reasons, pregnant women and persons with heart conditions or back trouble should not ride the waterslide.

Wibit Inflatable Rules

Watersports are fun and challenging but involve inherent risks of injury or death. To increase your enjoyment of the sport and to reduce risk, use common sense and follow these rules:

  1. Must pass the Facility Swim Test.
  2. All patrons must wear a PFD on the Inflatable. Only facility-provided PFDs are permitted.
  3. All patrons must be 6 years of age and older to participate.
  4. 3 participants maximum at one time on obstacle track.
  5. No more than 1 participant per inflatable section.
  6. No swimming under the WIBIT.
  7. Flips and dives off the inflatable are prohibited.
  8. No glass or sharp objects on the inflatables. Including water shoes or jewellery.
  9. No access to Lanes 5-8 when the Wibit is in use.
  10. Patrons must move in a forward motion on the Wibit at all times. Start in the shallow end and finish in the deep end.
  11. If you fall off, you must swim to the end of the inflatable and exit using ladder in the deep end.
  12. No jumping to the pool deck from the inflatable.
  13. No standing, jumping, diving or somersaults off the slide.
  14. Make sure swimmers have cleared the finish zone before entering the water from the slide.
  15. No horseplay. Zero tolerance behaviour policy in effect.

Maximum weight capacity is 250 LBS.

 WIBIT – Admission Standards

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury admission standard is created to ensure the safety of all patrons in the WIBIT area based on their age and swimming capability.

Children aged 5 and under: Children within this age group are restricted from using the WIBIT regardless of swimming ability.

Children ages 6 to 9: Ability: Passed facility swim test. A guardian must remain within the pool enclosure or within view of the pool at all times. Guardian must be a minimum 14 years of age. Swimming with a buddy from the same household is strongly recommended.

Individuals 10 years of age and over: May swim unaccompanied but may be asked to perform a swim test at the lifeguard’s discretion. Swimming with a buddy from the same household is strongly recommended.

*Note: All swimmers must have a green band and PFD to access the Wibit.

 WIBIT SWIM Test Policies

Every person must pass the facility swim test to be allowed on the WIBIT. The swim test Includes but not limited to, swimming 25 metres of the pool and treading water for 1 minute. Children may be asked to retake the swim test at the discretion of the Aquatic Staff.

Any of the following constitutes not passing the Swim Test:

  • Unable to swim 25 meters continually or without assistance
  • Stopping to grab the lane line or the side of the pool
  • Assistance was provided by a Lifeguard
  • Cannot pull themselves out of the water.

*Only one attempt will be given. Re-tests are not permitted.
