Accessibility Grants

  • Age Friendly Senior Housing Grant: This program funds projects that incorporate accessible, adaptable and inclusive designs, which allow seniors to continue to live independently in their communities for as long as possible.
  • The Home and Vehicle Modification Program: Ontario March of Dimes offers funding for basic home and/or vehicle modifications.
  • Ontario Renovates: Provides financial assistance to low-income seniors and to persons with disabilities for essential repairs and accessibility modifications to support independent living.

Accessibility Resources

  • Access 2 Entertainment: Free or discounted admission for support persons at participating entertainment venues.
  • Accessible Parking Permit: Available through the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, permit issued to individuals and entitles the vehicle in which it is displayed to be parked in a designated accessible parking space.
  • AccessON: The Ministry of Community and Social Services provides information, resources and motivation to make Ontario more accessible to everyone.
  • Community Living Ontario: Advocates for, promotes and facilitates the full participation, inclusion and citizenship of people who have intellectual disabilities.
  • Easter Seals Ontario: Helps children, youth and young adults with physical disabilities achieve their full individual potential and future independence.
  • Spinal Cord Injury Ontario: Assists persons with spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation.
  • T 9-1-1: Text with 9-1-1 enables hearing and speech-impaired Canadians to access emergency services more directly and efficiently. Through this service, call center operators are able to communicate with registered users via text messages.
