    Fierté Simcoe Pride 2025

    August 4 to August 15, 2025

    WHEREAS: This marks the fourteenth annual Fierté Simcoe Pride, and its purpose is to create a safe and inclusive Simcoe County that supports gender and sexual diversity through services, activities and events; and

    WHEREAS: The Intersex Progress Pride flag is raised to honour gender and sexual diversity in Simcoe County. The Intersex Progress Pride flag was designed by Valentino Vecchietti in the UK in 2021.

  • Open Air Fire and Fireworks Ban in Effect for BWG

    As of July 30, 2025, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury (BWG) has implemented a complete ban on open air burning and the use of fireworks due to elevated fire risk conditions.

    This ban applies even if you currently hold a burn permit and includes the following restrictions:

    • No open-air burning
    • No use of fireworks
    • No cooking fires
    • No use of coal, charcoal, wood, or woodchip-fueled barbecue devices

    Permitted Use:
    Cooking appliances with a mechanical shutoff, such as propane or natural gas BBQs, are.
