In accordance with the Animal Control By-law, if you own a dog and are a resident of BWG, you must obtain and renew a license for each dog you own by January 31 of each year. A maximum of three dogs are permitted per legal household.

Licensing Requirements
When applying for a Dog Tag/License, you will be required to provide the following:
- Name, address, and telephone number of the dog owner
- Name, age, gender, breed, and colour of the dog
- Rabies vaccination number and expiry date
- Confirmation of spay / neuter
- Veterinarian's name
Licensing Fees
Dog Licensing/Tag fees are annual and are not pro-rated for dogs obtained mid-year. Dog owners can save $5.00 on licenses completed between November 1st and January 31st.
- Spayed or neutered: $30.00
- Intact: $35.00
- Dangerous or restricted breeds: $55.00
(Please note: you must apply at the BWG Administration Office (in-person) if you are obtaining license for a dangerous or restricted breed)
