Santa Claus is Coming to BWG!

Celebrate the holiday season with one of BWG's most beloved events, the Santa Claus Parade! Join family, friends, and neighbours on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. as festive floats, music, entertainment, and holiday cheer light up the streets of BWG. Local community groups, businesses, and organizations will help bring the magic of the season to life with bright lights and creative parade entries.

“The Santa Claus Parade is a wonderful Bradford West Gwillimbury tradition that brings our community together to celebrate the magic of the holiday season. Each year, the creativity and enthusiasm of our local businesses, community groups and volunteers make this event so special. I encourage everyone to come out with family and friends, enjoy the festive atmosphere, and help us spread a little extra holiday cheer. Thank you to our sponsors, parade participants and volunteers for helping make this beloved tradition possible.”— Mayor James Leduc

The parade route will travel east along Holland Street, beginning at the intersection of Professor Day Drive/Melbourne Drive and continuing along Holland Street, finishing at the intersection of Holland Street and Simcoe Road/Barrie Street. For safety reasons, spectators are encouraged to view the parade along Holland Street only. Viewing on Professor Day Drive and Simcoe Road is not permitted, as these areas are designated for parade staging and participant disembarking. The parade duration is approximately 60 to 90 minutes from the start of the procession until the final float reaches the end of the route.

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, please follow these parade protocols:

  • Respect parade marshals. They are there to keep you and your family safe.
  • Be considerate and allow families with children to sit in front.
  • Do not smoke along the parade route.
  • Wear rain gear if needed. Umbrellas can block the view of others.
  • Do not set up tents or other structures that may obstruct sightlines.

There will be NO parking permitted on the parade route during the event. Parking for participants viewing the parade is available at:

  • BWG Leisure Centre (471 West Park Ave)
  • BWG Library (425 Holland Street West)
  •   31 Barrie Street
  • 24 John Street West
  • 29 Drury Street

Please be respectful of residents and businesses by avoiding private property and keeping driveways clear. All locations along Holland Street offer excellent viewing opportunities. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early to secure a viewing spot and choose a safe location well off the roadway, as some floats and marching bands may utilize the full width of the street.

Please be advised that a portion of the sidewalk adjacent to 123 Holland Street West will be temporarily closed due to ongoing construction activities. For the safety of all spectators, please do not view the parade from the roadway in this area. Visitors are encouraged to use the nearest available open sidewalk

All viewing areas along the route are wheelchair accessible.

At the beginning of the parade route, Canada Post volunteers will be collecting Letters to Santa, while the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services will be accepting donations for their annual Toy Drive. Residents are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy and help spread holiday cheer to local families this season.

This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, including Bayview-Wellington Homes (Bradford East Developments), Great Gulf, DG Group and Simcoe Garden.

It’s not too late to join the parade! Applications for parade entries are being accepted until November 2 at noon. Apply online at www.townofbwg.com/SantaClausParade. Town of BWG Council will be awarding prizes for: The Mayor’s Trophy (best overall), Best Commercial/Business Float, and Best Non-Profit Float.
