Chiari Malformation Awareness Day

WHEREAS, Chiari Malformation is a serious neurological condition affecting children and adults, often causing chronic pain, neurological complications, and signifi cant impacts on daily life; and

WHEREAS, increasing awareness and education about Chiari Malformation is essential to improving diagnosis, treatment, support, and research efforts for those affected by this condition; and

WHEREAS, the Walk for Chiari in support of SickKids has helped raise awareness, foster community support, and contribute meaningful fundraising efforts for children and families impacted by Chiari Malformation; and

WHEREAS, community events such as the annual Walk for Chiari bring together families, healthcare advocates, local organizations, and supporters in a shared commitment to hope, compassion, and advocacy;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim June 12 2026 as “Chiari Malformation Awareness Day” in the Town of BWG  and encourage all residents to recognize and support those affected by Chiari Malformation.
