BWG Awards Contract for Future Civic Centre Construction
Following an open competitive procurement process, the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury awarded the design-build contract for the future Civic Centre to Ledcor Design-Build (Ontario) Inc. for $87.9 million. The project remains within the Council-approved budget.
The 10,195 m2 Civic Centre will feature:
- A transitional performing arts theatre and council chamber (300-seat) for concerts, dance recitals, plays, cultural events, public meetings, and more
- A multi-sport gymnasium (1,140 m2) and fitness centre (125 m2) that provide more space for some of our most popular sports, like basketball and pickleball
- Meeting rooms, multi-purpose spaces, and a central lobby (2,500 m2) available to local businesses, community groups, and residents for public gatherings
- Town administration offices (2,633 m2), including a Customer Service Centre on the main level
"This is an exciting and transformative moment for our community," said Mayor James Leduc. "The future Civic Centre will serve as a central gathering place for residents of all ages and interests, while supporting the continued growth of Bradford West Gwillimbury. We are proud to move this important project forward and look forward to seeing construction begin soon."
Construction is expected to begin in October 2026. The project is scheduled for completion by mid-2029.
