The Town of BWG is launching its 2025 Traffic Calming Program! Two Public Information Centres (PICs) were held to gather feedback from residents as the Town reviews five key roadways for potential safety improvements.

These sessions were designed to allow residents to share their thoughts, ask questions, and learn about the proposed changes to local streets.

Learn more about the program and see the information from each PIC below.

The 2025 Traffic Calming Program is part of a broader initiative aimed at reducing traffic speeds, improving active transportation networks, and protecting vulnerable road users throughout the Town. At the November Strategic Initiatives Committee meeting, the Committee recommended a comprehensive review of five roadways, a proposal that was later endorsed by the Town Council.
The roadways under review for potential improvements are:

 1. John Street

2. Summerlyn Trail

3. Miller Park Avenue

4. West Park Avenue

5. Langford Boulevard

To carry out the review and design traffic calming measures, the Town has engaged Paradigm Transportation Solutions, a consulting firm with expertise in transportation planning. The firm assessed each of the five roadways, looking for ways to enhance pedestrian access, reduce traffic speeds, and improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians. Read the final report that Paradigm Transportation Solutions presented to council below.

The 2025 Traffic Calming Program reflects the Town's ongoing commitment to creating safer streets and fostering more sustainable transportation options. The Town of BWG invites all residents to participate in the PICs to ensure that the final plans reflect the community's priorities and need.
