How often are bills issued?

Effective January 1, 2018, the Town uses a bi-monthly billing schedule. Please click for details.

What are the rates and how are the charges calculated?

Your bill is calculated based on your usage over two months, as well as a fixed fee that you pay regardless of whether you use the utility. Below are charts showing the difference between our 2016 and 2017 rates (2017 rates effective January 1).​​

Can I pay this using my own bank’s online or telephone banking system? 

Yes, the Town has the following financial institutions ready to provide service through their online banking system:  CIBC, President’s Choice Financial, RBC, Scotiabank, BMO, TD Canada Trust, Laurentian Bank, Desjardins, National Bank and HSBC, Meridian Credit Union, DUCA Credit Union, Central 1 Credit Union and TelPay.

To find the bill on the list of payees on your financial institution’s system, search for “Bradford” and then BE SURE to select water/wastewater utility bill rather than property taxes or any other company that may have the word Bradford in its name. If you are unsure, contact your bank to clarify which recipient to choose.

You can also pay through these registered financial institutions by taking your bill to their teller counter or automated teller.

Who do I call if I have problems setting this up?
If your financial institution is not on this list or you are unable to find the Town of BWG water/wastewater as a payee on their online or telephone banking system, please advise Town. We will contact your financial institution’s customer service department to see if they are willing to accept payments on behalf of the Town.

How do I register for paperless billing?

Click to send us an email​ with your name, account number, service address and the email address you wish to have the bill sent to.

If my financial institution isn’t set up for online payment for this bill, can I still pay it online?

If you have registered for the ePay system to pay your bill online, you may continue to use this service until further notice. New registrations have been temporarily suspended as we transition to a new Virtual Town Hall. Check back this fall for futher information.

Can I sign up for Pre-Authorized Debit payments?

Yes. Information and an agreement form are available from the Documents menu at right. Return the completed form to the town with a VOID cheque. Payments will then be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the “Drafted on” date noted on the stub of your utility bill.

What forms of payment do you accept? Can I pay by credit card?
In person, the Town of BWG Finance department accepts cash, debit or cheque. Payments by debit or cash must be made during office hours (see below); after hours you may use the drop slot to drop off a payment by cheque. By mail we accept cheque only. If you wish to pay by credit card, this must be done online either through your own financial institution’s website.​

What if I am a tenant, or a property owner with a tenant?
Utility bills are prepared in the property owners name only; however, a property owner may request in writing ​ to have a duplicate copy of the Utility Bill mailed to a tenant at the service address by using the form in the Documents list at right (Water/Wastewater​​, T​ax Account - New, Change or Cancel Form​).
