Bradford Security of Water Supply Project
The objective of the Bradford Security of Water Supply (SWS) projects is to unlock water supply capacity, and in doing so, allow Bradford to continue to grow.
The SWS projects will;
- Reduce the system constraints;
- Increase system robustness, and;
- Mitigate system risks.
The goal of these measures is to ensure Bradford has the water supply to service its population growth to 2031.
Project Status & Update:
SWS Project 1: Water System Optimization & State of Good Repair Study
This project will begin with an evaluation of the existing water supply, storage and transmission system. This project will then recommend repairs, upgrades, and improvements necessary to reduce constraints and increase the robustness of the water system.
System Evaluation & Reviews||Q2 2020 to Q1 2021|
SWS Project 2: Water Wells Emergency Backup Power
This project will increase system robustness. This project will provide backup power at the Church Wells site in the event of a power loss or brownout.
SWS Project 3: Noble Drive Standpipe Refurbishment
The project will refurbish and extend the useful life of the Noble Dr. Standpipe (Bradford Standpipe No.2).
SWS Project 4: Water System Optimization & State of Good Repair Study Upgrades Project
Implementation of projects recommended by the Water System Optimization & State of Good Repair study.
