AFTER-HOURS EMERGENCY Call South Simcoe Police at 905-775-3311The Water Division is responsible for treating, disinfecting and distributing water to Town residents. They monitor the quantity and quality of the water in compliance with provincial requirements and deal with water quality concerns of the public.

Annual ​Reports

Annual Water Quality Reports are prepared each year and are available to the public for review. Additionally, annual drinking water inspections are conducted by the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MOECP) to ensure the municipal drinking water system conforms to all necessary regulatory requirements set out by the Province. ​Links to the current reports can be found in the D​ocuments list at right.​

Water Supply

​The Town's water supply comes from two municipal groundwater wells, along with treated surface water from the Town of Innisfil.

Water Quality

BWG’s drinking water is continually monitored and tested for compliance with the Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards. BWG’s water must meet over 100 strict health-based standards for microbiological, chemical and radiological parameters to ensure safe drinking water to its residents.

Water Distribution System Maintenance 

Preventative maintenance of our water distribution system (including watermains, hydrants and valves) helps to ensure the system is in good shape and avoid problems.

Municipal Drinking Water Licence (MDWL)

The MDWL program requires owners of municipal drinking water systems to obtain a license to operate their systems and to incorporate the concept of quality management into their operations. BWG currently holds a valid MDWL.
