Sign Permits
Keeping the Town of BWG clean and litter-free of unwanted signage and advertising is always a concern to our residents. To ensure that unwanted signs are not posted everywhere, BWG Town Council enacted a Sign By-law to regulate the types of signs permitted. All signs in the Town of BWG must comply with Sign By-law 2011-023.
Things to know:
- This by-law regulates such things as where signs are permitted in the municipality, sign location on a property, size of a sign, setbacks to property line, etc.
- It is a joint responsibility between the property owner and business owner to ensure a sign permit and sign licence is obtained and ensure that signs are in compliance with the by-law at all times.
- The majority of signs require either a sign licence, a building permit or both. By reviewing signs before they are installed, the Town of BWG can ensure the proposed sign is in compliance with the Ontario Building Code and Sign By-law 2011-023.
- Any sign application shall be reviewed within 10 business days from the complete submission.
