​PROCLAMATION

Portugal Day

June 10, 2022

​WHEREAS:

Portugal Day is celebrated around the world every year on June 10; and​

WHEREAS:

The Portuguese Cultural Centre of Bradford was established in 1983 in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury as a gathering place for the Portuguese community; and​

WHEREAS:

One of the mission statements of the Centre is to promote the Portuguese culture through religious festivals, educational seminars, and various community events; and

WHEREAS:

Proud Portuguese Canadians have chosen Canada, namely Bradford West Gwillimbury, as a future for their families and their children.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That His Worship Mayor Rob Keffer and Members of Council proclaim June 10, 2022, as PORTUGAL DAY in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.​

The flag-raising will take place on Saturday, June 11 at 3:00 pm (outside) at the
Court House Courtyard - 57 Holland St. E.​
