Interview & Hiring Process
Q: What can I expect during the interview?
If you're selected, you'll be contacted for an interview and/or testing. Prior to the interview you will be asked to complete a Candidate Questionnaire. The interviews will be conducted by a panel of a least two people. The Town uses a structured interview guide that includes job related and behavioural interview questions. Panel members will be taking notes during the interview of your responses. Some positions will require testing and you will be notified during the interview invitation if this is going to take place
Q: What can I expect if I am the successful candidate?
If you are chosen as the successful candidate, a job offer will be conditional upon the following:
- Reference check
- Drivers licence check (if applicable)
- Education/certification verification
- Police reference check
- Proof of vaccination status
Q: I have a record of offence, can I still be considered for a job?
A Police Check is not a barrier to employment - if a qualified candidate has a criminal record, the Town will consider the nature, date, and extent of the criminal record to assess whether the candidate is suitable for the position.
