Searching for a Position

How can I stay informed about new career opportunities at the Town of Bradford?

External job postings will be advertised on applicable association websites and on this page of the Town of BWG website and social media pages. Location of ads is dependent on the nature of the vacant position.

Applying for a Position

Q: How do I apply for a position at Town of BWG?

All applications can be emailed to hr@townofbwg.com.   If you are unable to email your application, you can fax it to 905-775-8633 or make arrangements to drop it off in person at the HR office located at 125 Simcoe Road.

Q: Can I submit my application to be kept on file for a future vacancy?

Applications and resumes can only be accepted for vacant positions that have been advertised to the public as per the Ontario Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, RSO 1990 Chapter M.56 as may be amended, provisions of Part II Section 28(1).

Q: Will I be contacted about the status of my application?

Resumes received for job advertisements will be considered during the recruitment process; however, due to volume, only those applicants selected for interview will be contacted.  The status of the recruitment process is updated on the Employment Opportunities section of the website under the Closed Opportunities in Progress section.

Q: Can I apply for more than one position at a time?

Yes. The Town encourages you to apply to any job posting that meets your skills, education and professional experience. You will need to submit a separate application for each position referencing the specific file number.

Q: Did you receive my resume?

After you submit your resume online, you will receive an email to confirm that we received it.  If you do not receive a confirmation email you can verify your submission by contacting hr@townofbwg.com.

Q: How will I be contacted if selected for an interview?

The Town of BWG uses email to communicate with all applicants for open job competitions. Please ensure you provide an email address that is checked regularly.

Q:If I am selected for an interview and require an accommodation, who do I speak to?

The Town of BWG is committed to providing accommodations based on any human rights protected grounds and in accordance with the AODA, throughout the recruitment and selection process. If you require accommodation, please notify us when contacted for an interview and we will work with you to meet your needs.  The Town strives to meet the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility, and supporting the goals of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

Q:Do I require proof of vaccination as a condition of employment?

Proof of vaccination for new hires is no longer required.

Interview & Hiring Process

Q: What can I expect during the interview?

If you're selected, you'll be contacted for an interview and/or testing.  Prior to the interview you will be asked to complete a Candidate Questionnaire.  The interviews will be conducted by a panel of a least two people.  The Town uses a structured interview guide that includes job related and behavioural interview questions.  Panel members will be taking notes during the interview of your responses.  Some positions will require testing and you will be notified during the interview invitation if this is going to take place

Q: What can I expect if I am the successful candidate?

If you are chosen as the successful candidate, a job offer will be conditional upon the following:

  •  Reference check
  • Drivers licence check (if applicable)
  • Education/certification verification
  • Police reference check
  • Proof of vaccination status

Q: I have a record of offence, can I still be considered for a job?

A Police Check is not a barrier to employment - if a qualified candidate has a criminal record, the Town will consider the nature, date, and extent of the criminal record to assess whether the candidate is suitable for the position.

Co-operative Education Placements

Co-operative placements are handled through Human Resources. Check the job posting boards at your educational institution and on this page of the Town of BWG website.
