Police Week

May 15-21 2022

National Police Week was first observed in 1970 as a way for police to connect with their community and increase awareness about the services they provide; and

Police services across Ontario celebrate Police Week annually, to honour and thank the work that front-line police officers, 9-1-1 communicators, civilian staff, and all members of Ontario police services do to keep Ontarians safe and healthy; and

The 2022 campaign theme is “Your Police Services: Helping Build Safer Communities” – recognizing the important role that police services play in building and maintaining healthy and safe communities across our province; and

The South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) is committed to the safety and well-being of the Towns of Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil – comprised of nearly 72,000 residents; and

The SSPS’s vision is to make a difference in the lives of those in our community and work together to ensure effective and efficient community safety and well-being – through teamwork, integrity, respect, inclusiveness, courage, professionalism, accountability, compassion; and

The role and objectives of the SSPS in our community include deterring criminal activity, improving road safety, ensuring critical incident/major event & emergency preparedness, protecting vulnerable members of the community, developing partnerships that focus on prevention, and increasing public education.

That His Worship Mayor Rob Keffer and Members of Council proclaim May 15 to 21, 2022, as POLICE WEEK in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The South Simcoe Police Service is hosting their annual Police Week Open House on Saturday, May 14,
