Current Official Plan

BWG’s current official plan was adopted and received provincial approval on February 15, 2002.

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury Official Plan is a statement of goals, objectives and policies for future growth and development. The Official Plan is developed based on input from the community and it promotes the public interest in the future development of the Town. It deals with issues such as where new housing, industry, offices and shops will be located, what services will be needed (e.g. roads, water mains, sewers, parks, schools), when parts of the community will grow and what community improvements are needed. The Official Plan strives to maintain a high quality of life for the Town’s residents, reduce uncertainty concerning future development, and provides a basis for the Zoning By-law and other land use controls.

The Official Plan must be consistent with or conform to the County of Simcoe Official Plan, the Provincial Policy Statement and other provincial plans (e.g., Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe). It is focused on sustainability and establishes policies that have a positive effect on the social, economic, cultural and natural environment of the Town.

If you require a paper copy of the consolidated plan (including amendments), it can be purchased for $50.00 + HST by contacting our Community Planning Division.
