Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON (October 12, 2022) – We are saddened to share the tragic news of the death of two of our South Simcoe Police Officers, killed in the line-of-duty on the evening of October 11, 2022, while responding to a disturbance in Innisfil.

The community of Bradford West Gwillimbury, our Council, and staff offer sincere condolences to the family and friends of the two brave officers, their colleagues at the South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS), and our neighbours in the Town of Innisfil.

“This tragedy sends a devastating impact across the communities of Bradford West Gwillimbury and Innisfil. These two beloved members of the SSPS have dedicated their careers to protecting our communities, both exemplary individuals who have given so much of their time to public service. My thoughts, prayers, and support are with the family, SSPS family, and friends of Constable Devon Northrup and Constable Morgan Russell, as well as to our community members." – Mayor Rob Keffer
