​Bradford-Innisfil Transmission Main


This project is to expand the water distribution system to Bradford West Gwillimbury by "twinning" the existing transmission main that is supplied by the Innisfil Water Treatment Plant along Sideroad 20, County Road 3, County Road 4 and Line 12.

Project Status & Update:

Detailed design is underway, after which a tender will go out for construction. Construction is expected to begin Winter 2018/2019. Dates will be announced for Public Information Centre and stakeholder meetings.

The Water Supply and Wastewater Servicing Master Plan Update (2011), prepared by C.C. Tatham & Associates Ltd. satisfied the requirements in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (as amended in 2007 and 2010) under the Environmental Assessment Act. The Study identified sizing of pipes for watermains based on modelling analysis. The preliminary data is available in the Master Plan report.

In addition the Town retained C.C.Tatham to conduct a WaterCAD modeling review to identify the infrastructure needed to route the increased water supply from the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Innisfil to the John Fennel Reservoir through Innisfil's Lakeshore water distribution system, Upon completion of the modeling, C.C. Tatham issued a memo outlining 3 potential options, of which option 3 was selected as the preferred alignment. This consisted of utilizing the planned infrastructure improvements the Town of Innisfil has planned for the Lakeshore water distribution system and thus reducing the overall twinning at this time. This option recommends the extent of the twinning be between the 3rd Line Booster Pumping Station (BPS) and the John Fennel Reservoir.
