Town of BWG Council to review 0% budget starting Monday
Watch deliberations live on YouTube
Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON (January 22, 2021) – Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury staff have brought forward a proposed budget with a zero per cent overall rate increase for 2021, which Council will deliberate via livestreamed videoconference on Monday, January 25 and Tuesday, January 26.
“After an unbelievably difficult time for our residents and local economy, staff and council agreed that it was necessary to find every possible way to continue to provide the level of service that people have come to expect without any increase in property tax rates,” said CAO Geoff McKnight. “Council will spend two days evaluating the Town’s needs and prioritizing projects to best serve the residents of BWG, while continuing to plan responsibly for the future.”
The first day of deliberations is Monday, January 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will continue on Tuesday if necessary. The public can view the sessions live or watch the recordings on the Town’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/c/TownofBradfordWestGwillimbury. The budget session agenda, along with all budget documents are available online here.
The final 2021 budget will be approved by Council at a regular meeting in February.
