Collings Road Rehab
Work will be taking place to repair portions of the curb and sidewalk, and to resurface the road on Collings Avenue. This work will take place on a 250-metre section of road between Magani Drive and Kulpin Avenue.
The Contractor is scheduled to begin the work on Monday, May 3, weather permitting. It is expected that the entire project will take approximately two to three weeks to complete once work begins.
The work involves the removal and replacement of broken curb and sidewalk, grinding off the existing asphalt road surface and the installation and compaction of a new hot-mix asphalt road surface. As part of this project, work will also include the relocation of the community mailbox and the complete removal of the sidewalk on the west side of Collings Avenue at Magani Drive. This area will be restored to a grass boulevard.
HOW YOU MAY BE AFFECTED:
Access to residential driveways may be temporarily obstructed during the curb and sidewalk repairs, as well as during the asphalt paving process. Affected homeowners will be notified in advance so that alternate arrangements can be made. Following the paving process, homeowners are asked not to park on the newly paved road for 24 hours to allow the asphalt enough time to consolidate and cool.
Please note that garbage collection and school bus pick-up and drop off will not be impacted by the proposed works.
We apologize for any inconvenience you may experience during this time.
