Epilepsy Awareness Month / Purple Day

According to Epilepsy
Canada, 1 in 100 Canadians are affected by epilepsy; and
Epilepsy is a physical
condition characterized by sudden, brief changes in how the brain works; and.
It is a symptom of a
neurological disease - a disease that affects the brain and shows itself in the
form of seizures; and
Month is a global effort dedicated to promoting epilepsy awareness in countries
around the world; and
Purple Day is
celebrated on March 26th annually to increase understanding, reduce stigma and
improve the quality of life for people with Epilepsy throughout the country and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That His Worship Mayor James Leduc and Members of Council proclaim March 2023 as EPILEPSY AWARENESS MONTH and March 26, 2023, as PURPLE DAY in the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

The flag raising will take place on Thursday, March 23 at 12:00 pm (outside)
at the Court House Courtyard - 57 Holland St. E.
