Source Water Protection (SWP)
In 2006, the Ontario government passed the Clean Water Act to protect municipal drinking water throughout Ontario.
As a result, Source Water Protection Regions were designated and Source Water Protection Plans created to provide a framework for protecting drinking water from contamination and overuse.
